MY  MAMA      ©  JACINDA  JONES  & Nancy Ayres 2010
VERSE  1:    I  LAY  IN  MY  BED  WONDERING  WHAT  TO  DO.  I CAN  TALK,  I  CAN  DREAM  AND  I  CAN GROW  UP  TO  BE  WHATEVER  IS  IN  MY  CERTAIN  LIMITS….  BUT ….  WHATEVER THAT IS….  FLY  HIGH  MY  CHILD,   FLY  HIGH.  YOU  SEE  THIS  IS  WHAT  MY  MAMA  SAID.  SHE  SAID,  BABY  GOD  GAVE  YOU WINGS  TO  FLY….  AND  NO  MATTER  WHAT  THAT  MAY  BE  REMEMBER  I’LL   ALWAYS  BE  WITH  THEE.
CHORUS:    MAMA  IT’S  ALL  YOU,  BECAUSE  MAMA  YOU  TAUGHT  ME  TO  FLY  AS  HIGH  AS  THE  EAGLE   GOD  MADE  YOU  TO  BE.  SO  FLY  HIGH  MY  BABY,   I ALWAYS  KNEW  YOU  COULD.

VERSE 2:    THERE  WERE  DAYS   I  COULDN’T  WALK,  TIMES  I  COULDN’T  TALK….  SOME  HOW  YOU  ALWAYS  KNEW  NO  MATTER  HOW  FAR  YOU  WERE  AWAY….  YOU  WOULD  ALWAYS  KNOW  WHAT  TO  SAY.  SO  MAMA  THIS  ONE  IS  FROM  ME  TO  YOU.   YOU  ARE  MY  GREATEST  EAGLE  AND  I  WANT  TO  BE  JUST  LIKE  YOU.
CHORUS:   MAMA  IT’S  ALL YOU,  BECAUSE  MAMA  YOU  TAUGHT  ME  TO  FLY  AS  HIGH  AS  THE  EAGLE  GOD  MADE  YOU  TO  BE.   SO  FLY  HIGH  MY  BABY,  I  ALWAYS  KNEW  YOU  COULD.

VERSE 3:    THERE  WAS  A  TIME  I  FELL  RIGHT  ON  TO  YOUR  CHEST  CRYING  LIKE  A  BABY….  SCARED  OF  WHAT  I  MIGHT  DO.  YOU  HELD  MY  FACE  AS  I  LOOKED  IN  YOUR  EYES  AND  YOU  SAID  “HONEY,  TOGETHER  WE  WILL  GET  THROUGH  THIS  ONE,  BUT  JUST  REMEMBER  I  WILL  ALWAYS  LOVE  YOU!”
CHORUS:   MAMA  IT’S  ALL  YOU,  BECAUSE  MAMA  YOU  TAUGHT  ME  TO  FLY  AS  HIGH  AS  THE  EAGLE  GOD  MADE  YOU  TO  BE.   SO  FLY  MY  BABY,  I  ALWAYS  KNEW  YOU  COULD.
